What Should a Simple Wearable CSV Look Like?
Use one header row and one record per line. A simple file might contain date,hrv, followed by dates and numeric values. If several readings share a date, choose average, sum, or last-value aggregation.
How Does the Wearable Data Export Insight Calculator Work?
The tool converts valid timestamps into calendar dates, combines same-day records, sorts them, and calculates descriptive statistics for one selected metric.
The trend compares the most recent selected number of observations with the same number before them. When there are too few values for two full windows, it compares the newer half with the older half and marks confidence as limited.
Possible outliers use the 1.5 × interquartile-range rule. Completeness compares unique dates with all calendar dates between the first and last valid date. Neither measure proves that data are wrong.

How Should You Protect Wearable Export Privacy?
Wearable exports can contain health, location, account, workout, sleep, and timestamp data. Keep the original archive private and share only what is needed.
This calculator processes text locally and makes no network request with the file. Browser extensions, copied text, screenshots, shared devices, and downloaded print files can still expose information.
Remove names, email addresses, GPS coordinates, device IDs, and unrelated columns before sharing a result. Use official platform controls when sending reports to a clinician.
What Are the Limits of Wearable Export Insights?
The output describes the selected file. It cannot verify sensor accuracy, explain a trend, correct time zones, or determine whether missing records mean the device was not worn.
Daily averaging may hide important within-day changes. Summing can double-count cumulative records. Firmware changes, replacement devices, travel, daylight-saving shifts, illness, medication, and measurement routines can alter trends.

Does this tool upload my wearable data?
No. File reading and calculations occur in the current browser tab. The page does not send the selected file to MultiCalculators or an external API.
Can it read an Apple Health export.xml file?
No. Apple’s complete Health export uses XML. Convert only the needed records to a simple CSV with a date column and numeric metric.
Why does my JSON file show the wrong fields?
JSON exports can contain nested structures. The tool finds a record array and flattens one object level. A simpler CSV may be easier when automatic detection fails.
What does date completeness mean?
It is the percentage of calendar dates containing at least one valid mapped value. It does not prove whether missing dates reflect non-wear, export limits, or parsing.
Does an IQR outlier mean the wearable is wrong?
No. It is only a statistical flag outside 1.5 interquartile ranges. The value may be real, affected by context, or caused by sensor or export issues.
Can this calculator diagnose a health condition?
No. It summarizes data and cannot diagnose, rule out disease, or identify a trend’s cause. Symptoms and high-stakes decisions need qualified clinical review.

Start with one metric, one device, and at least two matching time windows. A trend is easier to understand when you compare it with your own baseline instead of a stranger's score.
Steps and active minutes describe activity. Resting heart rate and HRV can reflect recovery context, but they also change with measurement methods, illness, stress, sleep, travel, and other factors. Sleep scores and training-load scores are often brand-specific.
Which Wearable Metric Should a Beginner Analyze First?
Choose the metric tied most closely to your goal. Use active minutes or steps for activity consistency, sleep duration or score for sleep habits, and training load for workout balance. Use HRV and resting heart rate as personal trends, not diagnoses.
How Does Wearable Data Export Insight Change by Age?
Age changes fitness needs, but it does not create one safe HRV, resting-heart-rate, step, sleep-score, or training-load target. Device method, health, fitness, medication, and personal baseline still matter.
For adults 65 and older, CDC guidance updated in 2025 adds balance activity to aerobic and muscle-strengthening work. The weekly aerobic target remains at least 150 moderate minutes or 75 vigorous minutes, plus muscle strengthening on two or more days when abilities and conditions allow.
The calculator uses age only to add planning context. It never changes a proprietary score or claims that a biometric value is normal for your age.
